Holiday Card Making: Block Printing Class

Saturday, I went to Gage Academy of Art for a holiday card making class that focused on block printing.  I’ve done “eraser carvings” for years but was interested in learning other methods.

Having never taken an official printmaking class before, I always used stamp pads for my carvings. Sometimes, I’ll use acrylic paint or gelatos (sample with gelatos and acrylic FAV-2014).

We used Speedball Speedy-cut blocks, lino cutters, Speedball waterbased relief ink, the red print, and graphic chemical ink for the rainbow roll (last image).
